Edel Fox, one of the most accomplished Irish musicians
of her generation, learned to play the concertina from Noel Hill, and
made her radio debut on Clare FM's “Mist - Covered Mountain”
at the tender age of seven. Edel plays music evocative of her native West
Clare, with a joy and abandon that lifts the spirit. In 2004, she was
awarded one of the highest honours for a traditional musician in Ireland
- the TG4 Young Musician of the Year award. Edel teaches music abroad
and at home, and is on staff at the Willie Clancy Summer School in her
home town, Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare.
Cyril O Donoghue from Co Clare comes from a musical
family with stong ties to the East Clare tradition through his father
Paddy. Playing both bouzouki and guitar and as a singer, he has recorded
with many musicians including Tola Custy, Alan Kelly, John Kelly, Michael
Queally, the Mulcahy family, Fisherstreet, and Birkintree (Italy). Cyril
played in Doolin in West Clare for years and has toured Europe, America,
and both the Middle East and Far East with various ensembles. He also
recorded a solo album, “Nothing But a Child”, in 2003. He
is currently a member of the Irish trad group "Providence".
Jack Talty Having started on the piano, Jack turned
his attention to the concertina when offered lessons by his uncle Noel
Hill. He has performed all over Europe, the US and Australia. He has also
taught at numerous workshops including the Willie Clancy Summer School,
Éigse Mrs. Crotty Festival and the Corofin Traditional Festival.
He is currently a member of the group Cruinniú.
